Manchester City secured a 3-2 victory over Ipswich Town at the Etihad Stadium, with Erling Haaland scoring twice and Phil Foden also finding the net in an entertaining contest. City dominated possession for much of the afternoon but had to withstand a late Ipswich fightback to claim all three points.

Man city took the lead in the 19th minute when Foden finished from close range following a pass from Jérémy Doku. Ipswich responded almost immediately, with Daizen Maeda levelling the score in the 21st minute after Abdoul Ouattara created the opportunity.

City appeared to have added another goal in the closing stages, but VAR ruled it out for offside. Ipswich were then awarded a penalty after Marc Guéhi tripped Abdul Fatawu, with Zian Flemming converting from the spot in the 90th minute.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser during 12 minutes of added time, but City held on despite late pressure and bookings for Leif Davis and Josko Gvardiol.

Haaland’s performance continued Manchester City’s impressive attacking story, while Antoine Semenyo has also been making headlines after his brace helped City secure a thrilling 5-3 victory over Sunderland. Both results highlight the different attacking threats available to Guardiola as City look to maintain their scoring momentum.
