Liverpool Fight Back to Beat Brentford as Isak and Muñoz Deliver Second Half Goals

Liverpool produced an impressive second-half response to secure a comeback victory over Brentford after trailing at the break. The Reds increased their attacking intensity after the interval, with Víctor Muñoz and Alexander Isak finding the net to turn the contest around.

Brentford took the lead in the 44th minute when Keane Lewis-Potter headed home from an Igor Thiago assist. Liverpool faced further frustration when a penalty decision was overturned following a VAR review, but the visitors remained determined to find a way back into the game.

Their response arrived in the 62nd minute as Florian Wirtz set up Muñoz, who finished with his left foot after an impressive individual effort. Liverpool continued to apply pressure, and Isak completed the turnaround in the 70th minute, converting a delivery from Alexis Mac Allister after Bradley Barcola helped create the opportunity.

Liverpool controlled 60% of possession and registered five shots on target, compared with Brentford’s two. The hosts also suffered a major setback when Yehor Yarmoliuk was sent off following a VAR review for violent conduct. Vitaly Janelt later received a second yellow card in stoppage time, leaving Brentford with nine players.

The comeback highlighted Liverpool’s attacking resilience, echoing the kind of firepower associated with their emphatic 6–3 victory over LASK, where Barcola reportedly delivered a hat-trick. Against Brentford, however, the decisive contributions came from Muñoz and Isak, who helped Liverpool secure the win after a difficult first half.
