Manchester United were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford after Dominic Solanke scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser, cancelling out Bryan Mbeumo’s second-half opener. Despite Tottenham being reduced to ten men following Rodrigo Bentancur’s dismissal, United failed to hold on to their advantage.

The result comes amid transfer developments surrounding Manchester United, with Andrey Santos reportedly completing his medical ahead of a £50 million move. The potential signing would provide another midfield option as United continue strengthening their squad for the challenges ahead.

Tottenham dominated possession during the first half, creating opportunities through Solanke, Mohammed Kudus and Conor Gallagher. However, United goalkeeper Senne Lammens made important interventions to keep the visitors at bay. Spurs controlled much of the ball but struggled to convert their territorial advantage into a breakthrough.

United improved after the interval, and their persistence paid off in the 73rd minute. Matheus Cunha supplied the assist for Mbeumo, who finished with his left foot to give the hosts a crucial lead.

The match became increasingly heated when Bentancur was shown a straight red card in the 78th minute following a violent confrontation involving Bruno Fernandes. Luke Shaw and Jan Paul van Hecke also received yellow cards during the incident.

United appeared poised to secure all three points, but Tottenham refused to surrender. In the 92nd minute, Sandro Tonali delivered a cross that Solanke met with a powerful header to restore parity.

United pushed forward during the remaining minutes, but Antonin Kinsky dealt with the late pressure. Despite their numerical advantage, the hosts could not find a winner, leaving both teams with a point after a dramatic encounter.
