Madagascar’s national football team, the Barea, stepped up preparations for their AFCON 2027 qualifying encounter against Nigeria with their third training session in Uyo on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The visitors have been in Nigeria since September 21 as they continue their build-up to Friday’s Group D fixture against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
Head coach Corentin Martins led the first group of the Madagascar delegation into Nigeria before the team travelled to Uyo, while other members of the squad arrived in different batches to complete the camp.
With full attention now on Friday’s crucial qualifier, the Barea have used their training sessions to fine-tune their tactical approach, improve match fitness and prepare for the challenge posed by the Super Eagles.
Their latest session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium provided another opportunity for Martins and his technical crew to work closely with the players as they put the finishing touches on their plans for the encounter.
Madagascar will be hoping their preparations translate into a positive result when they take on Nigeria in Uyo.
Footage from the Barea’s third training session captured the team intensifying preparations as they gear up for Friday’s AFCON 2027 qualifier against the Super Eagles.
