Bayern Munich have secured the long-term future of highly rated teenage defender Cassiano Kiala by handing him a new contract that runs until June 2030.
The 17-year-old central defender, who was born in Berlin to Angolan parents, joined Bayern’s academy from Hertha BSC in 2024 and has quickly established himself as one of the club’s most promising defensive prospects.
Softfootball understands that Kiala made his Bundesliga debut at just 16 years old, becoming the second-youngest player in Bayern’s history to feature in Germany’s top flight. He has continued his development through youth competitions and pre-season opportunities with the first team.

His progress has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester City, but Bayern have moved decisively to prevent the youngster from being lured away.
The contract extension underlines the Bavarian giants’ belief in Kiala’s potential and their plans to make him an important part of the club’s defensive future.
Following his breakthrough last season, Bayern reportedly established a clear pathway designed to integrate Kiala into the first team sooner rather than later. The new agreement further demonstrates that the club sees him as a long-term building block rather than simply another academy prospect.
