Al Hilal have included Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli on their three-man shortlist as the Saudi Pro League club continues searching for another major attacking addition.
Martinelli is being considered alongside Chelsea’s Pedro Neto and another unnamed winger, with Al Hilal yet to make a final decision on their priority target.
Softfootball understands that the Brazilian forward prefers remaining in European football for the next chapter of his career. However, Al Hilal could present a significant financial proposal if Martinelli is ultimately selected as their preferred option.
The Brazilian’s preference for European football could prove decisive. Martinelli is believed to be focused on continuing his career at the highest level in Europe, particularly with Arsenal competing for major domestic and continental honours.
Al Hilal are therefore expected to assess all three options before choosing their priority target. If Martinelli becomes their preferred choice, the Saudi side would be expected to present an offer designed to test both the player’s resolve and Arsenal’s willingness to consider a sale.
For now, there has been no indication that Martinelli is actively seeking an exit from Arsenal. His inclusion on Al Hilal’s shortlist nevertheless adds another layer of uncertainty around the winger’s future as the summer transfer window approaches its final stages.
