Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsí is currently leading the voting for the 2026 Golden Boy Award, according to the latest standings released by Tuttosport.

Softfootball noted that Cubarsí currently sits at the top of the rankings, with fellow Barcelona star Lamine Yamal in second place. However, Yamal is unable to win the award this year due to the competition’s regulations, having already claimed the prize previously.

Ivory Coast youngster Yan Diomande currently occupies third position as the race remains open ahead of the final round of voting later this year.

Cubarsí’s position at the summit reflects the remarkable progress he has made at Barcelona, establishing himself as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders despite his age.

Meanwhile, Yamal continues to build an extraordinary collection of honours at just 19 years old. The Barcelona winger has already accumulated major individual and team trophies, further underlining his rapid rise to the top of world football.

With the final votes still to come, Cubarsí will now look to maintain his advantage and become the latest Barcelona youngster to claim the prestigious Golden Boy award.
