Ebere Eze was in action as Crystal Palace secured a 3-1 victory over Millwall to advance to the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
The Nigerian-born England international produced another lively performance before making way for Matheus Franca in the closing stages. Softfootball gathered that Eze was heavily involved in Palace’s attacking play as Oliver Glasner’s side controlled much of the contest.
Crystal Palace took the lead when former Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga inadvertently turned Will Hughes’ cross into his own net. Daniel Munoz doubled the advantage soon after by finishing from close range following a defensive mix-up inside the Millwall penalty area.
The visitors pulled one back through Wes Harding deep into first-half stoppage time, giving the Championship side renewed hope despite playing with 10 men.
However, Palace sealed the result eight minutes from time when substitute Eddie Nketiah calmly found the back of the net after replacing the injured Jean-Philippe Mateta earlier in the game.
The victory sends Crystal Palace into the last eight of the competition, with Eze continuing to play an important role as the Eagles chase silverware this season.
