Kevin Akpoguma has reflected on Hoffenheim’s 1-1 draw with VfB Stuttgart, describing the result as a fair outcome after a challenging Bundesliga encounter.

The visitors took an early lead through Nick Woltemade, but Gift Orban secured a point for the home side with his fourth goal since joining the club in January.

Softfootball reports that Akpoguma acknowledged Stuttgart’s superiority in the first half but praised his team’s improved energy after the break. He said:

It was a deserved point. Stuttgart were better in the first half, but in the second half we had more passion and more energy. We earned the goal through good pressing.

The Nigerian defender admitted that Hoffenheim’s defense was caught off guard by the early goal but highlighted their resilience in fighting back. He added:

We even had a chance to win, but the draw is fine. We were asleep when they scored, we need to defend better. Stuttgart has enormous quality in attack.

Hoffenheim will look to build on this performance when they host Bochum in their next fixture.
