Leeds United have entered the race to sign Sevilla striker Kelechi Iheanacho as the Championship leaders look to strengthen their attack before the January transfer window closes. The Nigeria international has struggled for regular playing time since joining the Spanish club last summer.
Iheanacho moved to Sevilla on a free transfer after leaving Leicester City but has found it difficult to establish himself as a first-choice player.
Softfootball reports that the Spanish club are now prepared to allow the 28-year-old to leave this month, with Leeds reportedly considering a loan deal.
According to Football Insider, Leeds are interested in bringing the Nigerian forward to Elland Road before the transfer deadline. Premier League clubs Wolverhampton Wanderers and Ipswich Town are also reportedly monitoring the situation.
Iheanacho has scored three goals in 11 appearances across all competitions for Sevilla this season. Leeds, meanwhile, currently sit at the top of the Championship table with 53 points as they continue their push for promotion.
