Arsenal youngster Ethan Nwaneri has joined an elite group of teenage stars after matching a remarkable Premier League record previously achieved by Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen.
Softfootball gathered that the talented midfielder reached the milestone after scoring in Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Brighton, netting his second Premier League goal of the season in just his second league start for the Gunners.
Nwaneri has now become only the sixth player in Premier League history to score multiple goals before turning 18.

Rooney leads the list with seven goals before his 18th birthday, while Owen managed five. James Milner and Danny Cadamarteri each scored three, with Federico Macheda and Nwaneri recording two.
The Arsenal academy graduate also made history by becoming the first player in the club’s history to score more than one Premier League goal before turning 18.
However, the evening ended on a worrying note as the teenager was forced off with a muscular problem during the second half, raising concerns over his availability for Arsenal’s upcoming fixtures.
The Gunners will now await further assessment on the extent of the youngster’s injury.
