Gasperini Hails Lookman As One Of The World’s Best Players

Atalanta manager Gian Piero Gasperini has described Ademola Lookman as one of the best players in world football after the Nigerian’s outstanding performances for the Serie A club this season.

Lookman has been instrumental in Atalanta’s impressive campaign, delivering consistently in both domestic and European competitions. Softfootball understands the 27-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided five assists in 19 appearances across all competitions, underlining his importance to La Dea.

Speaking about the reigning African Player of the Year, Gasperini praised the forward’s remarkable development and growing consistency, saying:

He’s a top player. In terms of character, there are perhaps players who have more continuity and are more solid, but that’s normal.

The Italian coach believes Lookman has matured into one of Europe’s elite attackers through his improved consistency and influence on the team. He said:

Even his role is difficult. He always has to be very fit, but he has become a truly extraordinary player, among the best in Europe and the world because he has improved his consistency and in some ways has become an important Atalanta player.

Since arriving in Bergamo, Lookman has registered an impressive 44 goals and 22 assists in 98 appearances, cementing his status as one of Atalanta’s key players.
