Cole Palmer etched his name into the Premier League history books during Chelsea’s dramatic 4-3 comeback win over Tottenham on Sunday, breaking one record and matching another in the process.

The England international’s first goal came from the penalty spot, levelling the score at 2-2 after Yves Bissouma fouled Moises Caicedo inside the box.

Softfootball reports that the conversion extended his perfect Premier League penalty record to 11 out of 11, matching Yaya Toure’s record for the most successful spot-kicks without a miss in league history.

Palmer then went one better later in the match, stepping up again after being fouled by Pape Matar Sarr to make it 12 successful penalties from 12 attempts, setting a new outright record.

The goal also brought his Premier League contributions for the calendar year to 37, surpassing Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s long-standing Chelsea record, which had stood since 2001.

The win moved Chelsea up to second in the table, just four points off leaders Liverpool, who still have a game in hand following their postponed derby with Everton.
