Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze was in action as AC Milan secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Monza in Saturday’s Serie A encounter, Softfootball reports.
The Nigerian international made his 10th league appearance of the season and has now registered one goal in Italy’s top flight this campaign.
Chukwueze started for the Rossoneri and put in a lively performance before making way for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the 81st minute.
Monza believed they had taken an early lead in the eighth minute when Dany Mota converted after a knockdown from Milan Djuric, but the effort was ruled out following a foul on Theo Hernandez in the build-up.
Milan eventually found the breakthrough on a swift counterattack. Christian Pulisic delivered a cross from the right that was met by Alvaro Morata, whose header was blocked by Armando Izzo. The rebound, however, fell kindly to Tijjani Reijnders, who reacted quickest to head the ball into the net and secure all three points for the hosts.
The victory keeps AC Milan firmly in the race for the Serie A top positions as they continue their push for domestic honours.
