Reports from Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle revealed that Claudio Ranieri is set to step down from his Senior Advisor role at AS Roma with immediate effect after public disagreements with manager Gian Piero Gasperini over transfer decisions and club operations as midfielder Dani Ceballos is expected to leave Real Madrid C.F. this summer.

Softfootball understands that interest is already building ahead of the upcoming transfer window as Ceballos searches for more consistent playing time.

The situation at Roma reportedly worsened when Gasperini criticized certain signings and internal staffing matters. Ranieri is said to have responded by stating that the players brought in had received the coach’s approval, a reply that deepened tensions behind the scenes.

Reports now suggest Gasperini pushed for Ranieri’s departure as a condition to remain in charge, turning an internal disagreement into a major structural issue for the club. The sudden change adds fresh uncertainty to Roma’s sporting project during an important period.

Supporters have reacted with frustration over the visible instability, while many continue to praise Ranieri’s standing in the game. He remains one of football’s most respected figures, especially after leading Leicester City F.C. to their unforgettable 2015/16 Premier League title triumph.

Some fans have even suggested the veteran manager could return to help Leicester again, highlighting the affection still attached to his legacy.

Meanwhile, Michael Keane has committed his future to Everton F.C. by signing a new contract until June 2027.

The extension follows Everton’s dramatic 2–1 defeat to Liverpool F.C. in the Merseyside Derby, where Virgil van Dijk scored a late winner.
