Softfootball understands Álvaro Arbeloa has addressed growing speculation about his future at Real Madrid, insisting he remains calm despite recent setbacks.

Arbeloa was appointed head coach in January 2026 following the departure of Xabi Alonso, marking a swift managerial transition at the Santiago Bernabéu.

However, recent results have increased pressure, including a frustrating 1-1 draw against Girona FC in La Liga, a match that also featured a controversial late incident involving Kylian Mbappé.

In comments confirmed by Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, Arbeloa stated he is not worried about what lies ahead and will accept whatever decision the club makes regarding his position.

Romano posted:

Álvaro Arbeloa: My future? I’m not worried. I will accept whatever the club decides. I’m hurt but not for me, I’m sad for the players, the club, the fans. I think I’ve done everything I could to help the team win games

The Spanish coach admitted he is “hurt,” but emphasized that his disappointment is for the players, the club, and the fans rather than himself, adding that he believes he has done everything possible to help the team win matches.

With expectations always high at Real Madrid, uncertainty now surrounds Arbeloa’s future as the season reaches a critical stage.
