Borussia Dortmund are actively working on a move to re-sign Jadon Sancho as he prepares to leave Manchester United as a free agent.

The winger also had a stint with Aston Villa FC in 2025, where he was included in their UEFA Europa League squad under manager Unai Emery. Villa have also secured the future of rising talent Brad Burrowes, who recently signed a new long-term contract after turning 18, highlighting the club’s continued focus on youth development.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his x handle, the decision for Sancho to depart Old Trafford was made months ago, with the player now set to assess all available proposals ahead of the summer transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund have genuine interest in re-signing Jadon Sancho. He’s leaving #MUFC as free agent as decided months ago and will assess all proposals. Borussia Dortmund are keen, if financials terms can be agreed as @J_Tanswell reported.

Softfootball understands Dortmund are among the clubs most interested, although any deal will depend on reaching an agreement over financial terms.

Sancho previously enjoyed a highly successful spell at Dortmund between 2017 and 2021 after joining from Manchester City.

He later returned on loan in 2024, taking his total record at the club to 158 appearances, 53 goals, and 67 assists.
