Declan Rice has delivered a strong message following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final, insisting the setback will only strengthen the team’s resolve.

As shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, the midfielder responded to criticism with a clear statement:

“Declan Rice: A final defeat doesn’t define us. It only makes us hungrier to go on and finish the season strong.”

Despite the disappointment at Wembley, Rice made it clear that Arsenal’s ambitions remain intact. The Gunners are still leading the Premier League table and remain active in both the FA Cup and Champions League, keeping their hopes of a historic treble alive.

He dismissed fears that the defeat could derail their momentum, emphasizing that such setbacks are part of growth and necessary for building mental strength within the squad.

Rice also used the moment to call for unity among supporters as the pressure of the title race intensifies. He revealed that the squad held internal discussions after recent slip-ups, admitting that losing control in key moments is “NOT the standards we have set ourselves.” He ended on a determined note, declaring,

“We are ready to go again. We are together. We believe.”

Softfootball reported that Arsenal have also opened talks to extend Rice’s contract until 2031, underlining his importance as a leader during this crucial phase of the season.
