Carrick Confident Iheanacho Will Fire Middlesbrough to EPL

Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick has high expectations for Kelechi Iheanacho, who joined the club on loan from Sevilla on transfer deadline day.

The Nigerian forward is no stranger to the Sky Bet Championship, having played in the division last season with Leicester City. His experience at this level, combined with years of Premier League football, makes him a valuable asset for Boro’s promotion ambitions.

Carrick emphasized that Iheanacho’s arrival isn’t about replacing any single player but rather strengthening the team’s attacking options.

“He’s not a direct replacement for anyone,” Carrick told The Northern Echo. “It’s about the team as a whole. We have a lot of attacking quality, and adding Kelechi only improves us in that area.”

The former Manchester United midfielder expressed excitement about Iheanacho’s potential impact.

“We’re delighted to have him here. His ability is obvious, and he knows what it takes to succeed in this league. He’s proven himself in the Premier League as well, so we’re really pleased to have him on board.”

With Iheanacho now in their ranks, Middlesbrough will hope his presence helps them mount a serious push for promotion.
