Real Madrid and Chelsea have been left heartbroken after Bayern Munich reportedly swooped in and secured a deal for one of Europe’s most talked-about young forwards, Nick Woltemade.
The 23-year-old Stuttgart striker has turned plenty of heads this season and for good reason. After making the switch from Wolfsburg last summer, Woltemade wasted no time settling in, banging in 17 goals across 33 games for Stuttgart during the 2024-25 campaign, as Softfootball confirms.
He wasn’t just scoring for fun in the league; he also found the net in every single one of Stuttgart’s five DFB-Pokal matches, helping the club lift their first German Cup in nearly three decades. Naturally, that kind of form caught the eye of top clubs across Europe.

According to GOAL, Chelsea and Real Madrid were reportedly among the clubs keen on snapping him up, but it looks like Bayern Munich has moved faster and smarter in the transfer race.
Woltemade’s hot streak hasn’t stopped at the club level. He’s been tearing it up at the European Under-21 Championship in Slovakia, leading Germany to the final and currently sitting at the top of the Golden Boot chart with six goals in just four games.
With stars like Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga already flourishing, Los Blancos believe the Stuttgart man could be a versatile addition to their engine room or even play further forward.
However, they are not alone in the race. Chelsea have also shown strong interest in securing Nick Woltemade’s signature, eager to bolster their creative options following another transitional season.
In a prior update reported by Softfootball, Jamie Gittens is on the verge of joining Chelsea. The Blues are reportedly finalizing a long-term contract for the England youth international.
Once the final structure of the deal is agreed upon, Gittens is expected to undergo a medical and sign a seven-year contract. His addition would immediately bolster Chelsea’s depth on the wings.
