Joao Pedro, Cucurella, Neto, and two other Chelsea players named in Club World Cup Team of the Week

Five Chelsea players have earned their spots in the FIFA Club World Cup team of the week after their commanding 2-0 semi-final win over Fluminense.

According to DAZN Football on X, Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, Marc Cucurella, and Trevoh Chalobah were all recognised for their standout displays, with each playing a key role in the Blues’ dominant performance.

Joao Pedro, who joined Chelsea from Brighton recently, scored both goals against his former club to send the Blues into the final. His performance wasn’t just impressive, it was a warning to everyone in the squad.

Chelsea will now face Paris Saint-Germain, who booked their place in the final with a dominant 4-0 win over Real Madrid. With just one match left to play, Chelsea stands on the edge of history. One final step remains in what has become a surprising and spirited run in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup.

As Chelsea seals a place in the final, it’s hard not to feel the weight of what’s unfolding. This is not just another final, it is a statement of intent. Not only to become champions of the world but also for the winner’s prize money of $40 million.

For the last few years, Chelsea have not won much and lost their status amongst Europe’s elite in the eyes of many. This feels like the perfect opportunity to reintroduce themselves by winning the tournament. The Club World Cup final will take place on Sunday, July 13.

In an earlier update, Softfootball reported that Chelsea received huge boost as PSG lose key defenders for Club World Cup Final. Chelsea have been handed a major advantage ahead as the European Champions will be without Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez.

Both teams were forced to cope without key players in their respective semi-final clashes, PSG against Real Madrid and Chelsea against Fluminense, with Pacho and Hernandez suspended for PSG and Liam Delap and Levi Colwill missing for Chelsea.

However, while Chelsea will welcome back their suspended players, PSG will not be as fortunate. Unlike Delap and Colwill, who missed out due to yellow card accumulation, Pacho and Hernandez were shown straight red cards in PSG’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Bayern Munich.
