Bayern Munich’s search for a new winger has taken a fresh twist after their €52 million bid for Liverpool’s Luis Díaz was swiftly rejected, sporting director Max Eberl is now weighing up alternatives, with Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard high on the shortlist.
Amid the interest from Bayern, Softfootball understands that Trossard is not interested in leaving Arsenal for Bayern Munich this summer. The 30-year-old forward scored 28 goals and 23 assists since joining Arsenal from Brighton for a fee of just £27million two years ago.

In that time, Trossard has proven an invaluable member of the Gunners’ first-team squad, but the Belgian has struggled to nail down a regular starting role under Mikel Arteta and there is mounting speculation that he could soon be on the move.
Al-Ittihad failed with an ambitious £29.4million bid to sign Trossard last summer and the Saudi Pro League remains a viable option for the attacker, who is out of contract at the Emirates in 2026, as well as Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce.
Bayern Munich have also been credited with a strong interest and are understood to have identified the former Brighton man as one of their top targets should they prove unsuccessful in pursuit of a deal for Liverpool’s Luis Diaz.
According to Sky Deutschland, Trossard has received ‘numerous enquiries’ from the Bundesliga champions, but is ‘not interested’ in joining up with fellow countryman Vincent Kompany at the Allianz Arena.
The report adds that there are no ‘concrete negotiations’ at this stage and Arsenal’s hierarchy remain hopeful of extending Trossard’s contract beyond next summer.
Bayern would be expected to step up their interest in Trossard should Liverpool continue to play hardball for Diaz over the coming weeks.
For Bayern, Trossard’s versatility is a major plus. Comfortable on either wing or in a more central attacking role, the Belgian offers flexibility and a proven Premier League pedigree. His work rate, eye for goal, and ability to operate in tight spaces could suit Bayern’s high-tempo style under Vincent Kompany.
Whether Arsenal are willing to entertain a sale remains to be seen, but with the player yet to agree on an extension, the Gunners could be forced into a decision if Bayern formalise their interest.
Softfootball reported earlier that Bayern Munich has been informed of Nkunku’s asking price as transfer interest builds.
The Budesliga champions have rekindled their interest in Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, who is likely to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with Thomas Muller’s exit and Jamal Musiala’s long-term injury, the Bavarians are looking to recruit a top quality attacking midfielder.
