Barcelona are scrambling to raise funds as they race against time to comply with La Liga’s strict 1:1 spending rule, an essential step if they hope to register their new signings ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Despite offloading several players in recent weeks, the Catalan giants still have a significant financial gap to bridge. Without fresh income, key additions such as Joan Garcia and others may not be cleared to play under La Liga regulations.
Softfootball previously reported that the club is actively working to trim down a bloated squad, with up to five players potentially heading for the exit. Beyond player sales, however, Barcelona are also exploring commercial opportunities, and one such move is already nearing completion.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the club has entered advanced talks with the tourism board of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a deal that would see the African nation’s name featured on Barça’s official teamwear.
That partnership, which now appears to be in its final phase, could inject a much-needed €44 million into the club’s coffers.
Softfootball has confirmed that the proposed sponsorship would run for four seasons, with DR Congo set to appear on the back of Barcelona’s training kits. Notably, the country recently inked a similar deal with AS Monaco, the new home of Barcelona loanee Ansu Fati.

For Barcelona, this is a relatively untapped revenue stream. While they haven’t leaned heavily into tourism sponsorships in the past, the success of this deal could open the door to more non-traditional partnerships.
Crucially, the money raised could help the club meet the financial criteria required to restore the 1:1 spending ratio, an outcome they are targeting by early August.
Still, sponsorship alone won’t balance the books. The pressure is mounting on the club’s leadership, particularly sporting director Deco, to finalise player exits that will help stabilise the financial situation.
Softfootball reported that high-earning stars such as Marc-André ter Stegen, Andreas Christensen, and Pau Víctor are reportedly on the list of possible departures, though nothing is yet confirmed.
With the transfer window ticking down, all eyes are on the Camp Nou boardroom. If they fail to act swiftly, the club risks entering the new campaign with unregistered players and ongoing financial constraints.
