Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new contract to extend his stay at Al-Nassr, ending rumors of a potential move before the Club World Cup this summer. Despite earlier hints on social media suggesting his time in Saudi Arabia was over, the 40-year-old forward is now set to continue with the club for at least two more seasons.

Al-Nassr endured a disappointing campaign, finishing third in the Saudi Pro League and missing out on AFC Champions League qualification. However, Ronaldo maintained his personal form, finishing as the league’s top scorer for the second year running.

Following their 3-2 defeat to Al-Fateh in their final game of the season, Ronaldo had posted what seemed to be a farewell message. But interest from clubs like Al-Hilal and Morocco’s Wydad Athletic Club, who had considered him for their Club World Cup squads, has now been shut down with this renewed commitment.

FootMercato reported that the deal with Al-Nassr was already signed, while Al-Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro recently confirmed that talks were active and positive. Hierro emphasized that both the club and the wider Saudi football community were eager to retain Ronaldo’s presence.

As Ronaldo joins up with the Portuguese national team for the international break, he does so with his club future secured—he won’t be part of the Club World Cup but will continue to lead Al-Nassr’s ambitions domestically and beyond.
