Barcelona are monitoring Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli as they explore summer transfer options, particularly if their efforts to sign Luis Diaz or Marcus Rashford fall short. The La Liga champions are assessing various targets amid budget constraints.
Rashford remains a key interest for Barcelona, though Manchester United’s preference for a permanent deal is complicating talks. Barcelona are unwilling to meet the €40 million price tag and would prefer a loan, making alternatives like Martinelli more attractive.
The Brazilian, still only 23, is under contract at Arsenal until 2027 with an option to extend. Despite a slightly inconsistent 2024–25 season, he has scored 51 goals and provided 29 assists across 225 games for the Gunners. His long-term deal and young age make him a valuable asset.
Martinelli’s name has also surfaced in Saudi Arabia, where clubs are showing growing interest. However, a move there is not guaranteed, as concerns over competitiveness and development persist for players in their prime.
Following another season without silverware, Arsenal may be open to reshaping their squad. The club finished second in the Premier League for the third consecutive year, prompting speculation about incoming and outgoing players, especially in attack.
Barcelona, meanwhile, are also considering Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman as part of their backup plan. They remain focused on strengthening the wings without overextending financially.
Amid all this, Martinelli’s future hangs in balance. Whether he stays in North London or seeks a fresh challenge abroad remains to be seen this summer.
