Deputy captain Lord Amoah is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in the sides clash against Young Apostles last week and this report was confirmed by softfootball

Due to this predicament, Lord Amoah will undergo treatment that involves surgery. An ACL injury is one of the most severe setbacks a professional footballer can face. It involves a tear in the primary ligament that stabilizes the knee joint. A professional athlete requires7 to 9 months to return to competitive play. This means Amoah can be ruled out for the remainder of the current season and likely a significant portion of the next.

Asante Kotoko is one of the most decorated clubs in Africa, and their expectations are always to win the league. As a 22-year-old starting defender, Amoah was the head of the backline.

Replacing him mid-season disrupts the quality of the defense.

Asante Kotoko have firmly held the upper hand in this iconic fixture in recent seasons, and shows how good they have been performing with an effective deputy captain.

Meanwhile, softfooball had also reported Wirtz’s absence, representing a significant blow for Liverpool, with the playmaker emerging as a key creative force in recent months. Liverpool were also without Jeremie Frimpong in recent weeks, though the Dutch full-back has now returned from injury and impressed off the bench against West Ham.
