Ecuadorian midfielder Patrik Mercado is set to join Sevilla FC from Independiente del Valle in a €6 million deal. Softfootball reports.
This was comfirmed by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account where he revealed that documents have been exchanged, with an official announcement expected within 24 hours.
Romano stated:
Patrik Mercado to Sevilla, here we go! Deal done for the Ecuadorian to join after World Cup 2026. Announcement expected in next 24h but all done, documents exchanged.

Mercado will complete the move after the 2026 World Cup, allowing him to maximize his international exposure with Ecuador before heading to Spain. The 22year old, valued at €5.5m with a contract until December 2026, emerged from IDV’s youth academy and drew interest from Chelsea and Strasbourg, underscoring Sevilla’s edge in scouting affordable South American prospects.
Meanwhile, transfer talk surrounding Juventus FC has intensified after Victor Osimhen described the Turin giants as “one of the most important clubs in the world”, calling a potential move a privilege.
Victor Osimhen: “Juventus is one of the most important clubs, rich in history and a ton of legends have played for this team”. “Playing here would be a privilege. I’m happy at Gala but you never know in future. 90% of footballers in the world would want to play for Juve”.
Elsewhere, Juventus are in the final stages of securing a new long-term contract for Weston McKennie, moving decisively to extend his stay beyond the 2025–26 season and avoid any risk of losing him on a free transfer.
