Fabrizio reported:

Barcelona want to keep Marcus Rashford beyond this season, planning to negotiate and reduce €30m buy option from Man United. MUFC insist for Rashford fixed price to be received in full, €30m — salary also a topic to discuss over next months.

However, Manchester United are standing firm. The Premier League side want the full €30m paid with no discount, while Rashford’s salary is also expected to be a major talking point in negotiations over the coming months.

Barcelona are determined to make the England forward a permanent fixture at Camp Nou after being impressed with his performances and attitude under Hansi Flick.

The club had already informed Rashford and his representatives back in January of their desire to retain him beyond his loan spell.

Rashford, 28, has been a key figure since arriving from Manchester United in the summer and was part of the squad that secured a 2–0 La Liga victory over Villarreal in December 2025.

Despite that, Barcelona’s attempt to renegotiate the €30m clause has sparked debate. Many view the fee as a reasonable valuation in today’s market, arguing that Manchester United should insist on the agreed price rather than entertain discounts.

The tug-of-war is now set to intensify in the coming months. Should United lower the price — or stand firm and demand the full €30m?
