Liverpool have secured the future signing of highly rated French centre-back Jérémy Jacquet after agreeing a $71 million deal with Rennes for the 20-year-old defender. The agreement, reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on his official X handle, will see Jacquet join the Reds in the summer of 2026.

Softfootball understands as part of the arrangement, Jacquet will remain at Rennes for the rest of the current season before completing his move to Anfield. Liverpool are understood to have presented a clear long-term sporting project, outlining a key role for the defender in the first-team setup from June. The proposal reportedly left Jacquet convinced and happy with the move.
