Igor Thiago overcame his recent goals drought with a brilliant hat-trick as Brentford hammered Everton 4-2 at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Sunday evening, Softfootball reports.
Interestingly, the Brazilian had gone six games without a goal but stringed to life against the Toffees during the premier league Match-Day 20. A result unexpected in some quarters but the Bees has enjoyed a very good form of late.

During the preview, a tight encounter was expected between the two sides but it turned out to be a six-goal thriller. Those expectations made the win even sweeter for Brentford as they revealed via their official X handle with a photo that captures their feelings.

Igor Thiago, who was voted Player of the Month following his goalscoring exploits in November, was a torn in the flesh of Everton defenders despite it being their visit to the Hill Dickinson stadium.
It took the Brazilian only 11 minutes to open scoring for the away side as he finished off a precise cross from Vitaly Janelt, past Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford. At the other end, Dwight McNeil forced a save out of Caoimhin Kelleher before James Tarkowski’s header was turned away for a corner which nothing came out from. It was the only goal registered in the first 45 minutes of the match.

It took the visitors only six minutes in the second half to make it 3-0. Nathan Collins doubled Brentford’s lead with a glancing header in the 50th and a minute later Igor Thiago scored his second for the day. Everton reduced the deficit in the 66th minute as Jack Grealish’s cross was headed in by striker Beto to make it 3-1.
Igor Thiago completed his hat-trick in the 88th minute. It was his 14th goal of the season, only Erling Haaland has more goals in the premier league. Everton got the last goal as Barry scored a header to end the match 4-2.

Brentford moved into seventh place with 30 points after 20 premier league matches, while Everton drop to 13th but are only two points behind the Bees.
