Mason Mount was the hero for Manchester United as they defeated Crystal Palace 2-1 at Selhurst Park this afternoon, Softfootball reports.
The Red Devils had lost 1-0 to 10-man Everton last weekend at Old Trafford to end a 5-game unbeaten run while the Eagles were the in-form team after beating Wolves 2-0 in the premier league match-day 12.

It looked business as usual when Philippe Mateta gave Palace the lead through a penalty but the Red Devils fought back with goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount to record Manchester United’s first win at Selhurst Park since 2020.
The Red Devils celebrated the win via their official X handle. The posted:

Before the match, Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim confirmed that Lisandro Martinez is ready and that was happy news for Red Devils fans as they’ve missed the Argentine for almost eight months due to injury. He started the match from the bench as De Ligt, Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw were the center back choice for the match.

It was a lively opening half as both sides went at it, trying to take the early advantage. But it was the home side that went in front as Mateta was fouled in the box by Yoro. He stepped up and finished from 12 yards but had to take the spot kick twice after he had a double kick the first time.

In the second half, Manchester United came out strong and dominated play. Joshua Zirkzee then connected a pass from Bruno Fernandez and finished with aplomb to make it 1-1. With momentum in favour of the away side. They won a freekick close to the box and Mason Mount scored to hand the Red Devils the 2-1.

Bruno Fernandez was named the premier league Man-of-the-Match and posed with his award for a picture which was posted on Manchester United’s official X handle. See Below.

The last time Manchester United beat Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park was in July 2020, while they had not managed a goal here since Bruno Fernandes’ effort in January 2023. All that is history now under Ruben Amorim with the win today.
