Former Chelsea star Ziyech agrees deal to join Wydad Casablanca

Wydad Casablanca has a agreed a deal with former Chelsea winger, Hakim Ziyech to join them as a free agent, Softfootball reports.

The 31-year-old has been a free agent since he parted ways with Turkish giants, Galatasaray and despite offers from Saudi Arabia and Europe, he decided to return to the one of the most successful and historic clubs in his homeland, Morocco.

According to football expert, Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Ziyech has agreed the deal. He wrote:

Hakim Ziyech to Wydad Casablanca, here we go! Moroccan star, back home as deal has been agreed today. Ziyech was available as free agent and after many approaches, he’s ready for new chapter at Wydad.

Ziyech’s former team Chelsea are doing fine and only last weekend the Blues defeated Nottingham Forest 3-0. Before the start of the new season they won the FIFA Club World Cup where they defeated Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) 3-0 in the final.

Ziyech was born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents which made him eligible to play for both countries but he chose to represent the African country.

He had a successful career with Dutch giants Ajax from where he joined Chelsea in 2020 and won the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
