Manchester United Begin New Contract Talks with Harry Maguire

Manchester United have are in talks with Harry Maguire over a new contract as his current deal is set to expire at the end of the season. The England international who joined United from Leicester City in 2019 for £80million has made over 250 appearances for the club.

Despite limited playing limits this season, Maguire still remains a respected player at Old Trafford. He has featured seven times in all competitions and scored in United’s penalty defeat to Grimsby Town in the League Cup, Softfootball reported.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, confirmed that talks between the Manchester United and Maguire have begun. Fabrizio reported:

Manchester United are in talks with Harry Maguire over new deal with existing contract due to expire in June.

Face to face meeting with his camp took place in the recent days and more will follow to discuss conditions.

United’s willingness to renew Maguire’s contract shows their desire to maintain stability within the club. Despite loosing his captaincy to Bruno Fernandes during Erik ten Hag’s tenure, Maguire continues to be a
steady influence on and off the pitch.

Softfootball in an earlier piece reported how Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly backed Amorim despite United’s poor start to the Premier League season. Ratcliffe dismissed sack rumor’s while insisting that the club will remain patient with the Portuguese manager’s project.
