Yamal played in Wednesday’s 2-1 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, but the club later announced his injury case. As a result he is out of the team to face Sevilla as reported by Barcelona’s official X handle.

It is a cruel timing for Yamal, who had just returned from his previous three-week layoff to help Barcelona beat Real Sociedad last weekend before playing the full 90 minutes against PSG.

He has missed four games since his first start in August while recovering from a groin injury. So, it was understandable when Barcelona coach Hansi Flick blamed Yamal’s injury on Spain’s Coach De la Fuente for playing the winger during the September’s World Cup qualifiers.

For Barcelona fans they will be unhappy because Yamal’s latest injury also casts doubt over his availability to feature in the El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.

However, to address the topic directly. Yamal is a superb player but Spain will be fine in the World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria as they have players that can cause havoc to the opponents and blessed with talents in their ranks.

Unfortunately, Spain will be without Nico Williams and Dani Carvajal while Alvaro Morata has been left out of the squad after a slow start to the season at Como. For Nico, the Athletic Bilbao winger Williams has not played since picking up a groin injury in the 6-0 win over Turkiye. Bilbao had reportedly asked for his playing time to be managed due to physical discomfort.

Yamal’s teammate, Pedri is one player that can help Spain during the World Cup qualifier. He is the conductor in midfield and a perfect player to the system played by Spain and Barcelona. Yamal is important but there are players like Pedri that are also very important to the Spanish team.

The Spanish team works as a unit. A system that helped them win the European Championship and one of the most feared countries in terms of football.
