Speaking after the game to Tottenham Hotspur media in an interview that was shared via it’s official X handle, he said:

It was a good win inside the Tottenham Hotspur stadium to the delight of the fans despite it being a slim 1-0 score. Villarreal are a formidable side and have enjoyed a fine start to the LaLiga season, only losing 2-0 against Atletico Madrid before their clash against Spurs.

Tottenham on the other hand are solid defensively under Thomas Frank’s guidance and apart from the 1-0 defeat against Bournemouth at home. Spurs has picked up nine points from four matches so far in the premier league. Tottenham recent result in the Premier League was a 3-0 win over West Ham in a one sided London Derby played just before their Champions League clash against Villarreal.

Frank will hope his side maintains their defensive solid and good winning form when they return to action on Saturday with a Premier League clash against Brighton while Villarreal host Osasuna same day in LaLiga.
