The Netherlands welcome Poland in what promises to be one of the most exciting clashes of the international break, and there’s plenty at stake as both sides chase early momentum in their World Cup qualifying campaign, Softfootball reports

Ronald Koeman’s men have been flying. Two games, two wins, ten goals scored, none conceded, it’s the kind of start every team dreams of. The Dutch have made winning qualifiers look easy over the past few years, and they come into this one unbeaten in their last eleven.

At home, they’ve been nothing short of ruthless, sweeping aside anyone who comes their way, scoring for fun and barely giving their opponents a sniff. It’s no wonder their fans are expecting another strong performance in Amsterdam.

The Netherlands men’s football team released an exclusive video showing its players preparing for the World Cup qualifier match against Poland via its official X handle. watch below;

Poland, though, won’t arrive just to make up the numbers. They’ve picked up two wins from three and are very much in the mix to book a ticket to North America in 2026. The problem? Their away form is a real worry. That 2-1 loss to Finland last time out made it three straight defeats on the road, with eight goals conceded in that stretch.

If they are serious about returning to the World Cup, they’ll need to show they can stand tall in tough away games, and there are few tougher than facing the Netherlands in their own backyard.

History doesn’t help Poland’s case either. They’ve beaten the Dutch only three times, and the Oranje have won five of the last six competitive meetings. Regardless, football has a way of throwing up surprises, and Poland will be hoping this is one of those nights.

As always, the spotlight will be on the players who can turn the game. Xavi Simons, who just sealed a move to Tottenham this summer, has been a spark for the Netherlands, chipping in with goals and creativity, and every time he’s scored at home, his team has gone on to win.

Poland’s hopes could rest on Karol Świderski, who has been clinical in qualifiers, already finding the net this campaign. With both squads almost at full strength, only Jeremie Frimpong is missing for the Dutch.

The Netherlands are the clear favorites, no questions asked, but Poland’s hunger to prove themselves might just make this a tougher contest than most people would expect. Either way, fans can look forward to an evening of intensity, drama, and perhaps a few fireworks right from the opening whistle.
