Aston Villa are exploring a potential Deadline Day move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho. While the Red Devils would prefer a permanent transfer, Softfootball understands that talks are currently focused on a loan agreement.
Sancho has entered the final year of his contract, with United holding the option to extend by a further year. The 25-year-old was signed for £73m from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2021.

He spent last season on loan at Chelsea but returned to United after the west London club paid a £5m penalty to get out of their obligation to buy him.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, negotiations between Aston Villa and Manchester United are ongoing on Deadline Day for Jadon Sancho. Talks are taking place separately from discussions over Emiliano Martínez. He tweeted:
“Negotiations between Aston Villa and Man United continue on #DeadlineDay for Jadon Sancho.
Separate deal from Emi Martínez but both in same conversation, trying to get both agreements done.
Sancho has to decide his future today or eventually move to not-European club.”
Sancho showed great promise in his early career at Borussia Dortmund, but his progress has stalled at Old Trafford. This has been the case for many players, including Rashford and Antony. However, these players have shone since taking loan moves.
There has also been interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, with their transfer windows closing on September 11 and 12 respectively. Should Sancho secure a loan move to Villa, he would follow in Marcus Rashford’s footsteps after he spent the second half of last season on loan in the Midlands.
The 25-year-old has already turned down a transfer to AS Roma this window, but must take this move to Villa on deadline day. If he does not, then his only options of playing this season, would be by moving to the Saudi Pro League or Turkish Super Lig.
