Aston Villa player Jacob Ramsey is set to complete his transfer from the Villains to his new club Newcastle today, Wednesday, Softfootball can confirm.
Ramsey, who has been on the radar to leave Villa Park, is finally set to join Newcastle, despite interest from Nottingham Forest in the midfielder.

Softfootball understands that after verbal terms were agreed late last night, the Magpies are preparing to complete the £40 million deal today.
As reported by transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, both clubs, Aston Villa and Newcastle, have agreed on terms, with paperwork set to be completed today for the English player.
Fabrizio wrote about the deal on his X handle, saying:
“After verbal agreement almost done last night, Newcastle are set to complete Jacob Ramsey deal today.
“Full agreement imminent for £40m.”
Ramsey was a key figure for Villa last season, scoring four goals and registering five assists across 46 appearances in all competitions.
If completed, this deal would add further depth and creativity to Eddie Howe’s midfield as Newcastle prepare for another push in both domestic and European competitions.
