Softfootball has discovered that the England U-19 striker is set to move from Leeds United to the London side Tottenham Hotspur after eight years.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete the signing of Oliver Boast from Leeds United, with the highly rated teenage striker confirming his departure from Elland Road over the weekend. The deal is set to have cost Tottenham seven figures paid to Leeds for the youngster.

Boast, 16, scored nine goals in 18 appearances in the Under-18 Premier League last season and has long been regarded as one of Leeds’ standout academy prospects. In a farewell message on his Instagram page, he wrote:

“After 8 years at Leeds United, it’s now time for me to move on and start a new chapter. I’ve been lucky enough to share some amazing moments with great teammates…

“I wish the club all the best for the future.”

The move to Spurs had been expected following reports last month that the player had agreed terms with the North London club. A natural centre-forward, Boast made his debut for Leeds’ Under-18 side last August and broke into England’s Under-16 setup by December, scoring on international duty.

He also made a brief appearance for the club’s Under-21 side in April but remained behind Harry Gray in the pecking order.

At Tottenham, Boast is expected to join a growing pool of young talent that includes fellow former Leeds academy graduate Archie Gray, who moved to Spurs last summer in a deal worth £40 million.

Boast becomes the latest in a line of prospects to depart Leeds’ Thorp Arch academy as Tottenham continues to invest heavily in emerging domestic talent.

Recall that Tottenham has signed former West Ham player Mohammed Kudus to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.

The Thomas Frank side has been pressing to build a solidified team as they compete for the Champions League next season, having defeated Reading 2-0 in their friendly game last weekend, where Kudus had a brilliant debut.

Spurs are still eyeing bringing Morgan Gibbs to London, as the deal is set to be ongoing between Nottingham Forest and the London side.
