Arteta is looking to add more firepower to his attacking flanks with the signing of the new winger. Madueke was in action for Chelsea at the just concluded 2025 FIFA Club World Cup which the Blues eventually won.

The Gunners took to their X handle to unveil their new man. They wrote:

Upon his move to Chelsea’s rivals, Madueke has penned a letter to Chelsea fans on his Instagram handle. He wrote:

The England international, who will wear the number 20, signed a five-year contract and becomes the second player to make the switch from Stamford Bridge this summer, following goalkeeper Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea signed him in the summer of 2023 for €33 million, and he went on to make 92 appearances, scoring 20 goals and providing 9 assists. He’s also earned seven England caps since making his senior debut last July and is close to both Saka and Declan Rice.

With Madueke in the fold now, the Gunners will focus on the pursuit of Swedish striker, Viktor Gyokeres whose current club, Sporting CP are frustrating Arsenal’s pursuit.

Softfootball had been following Gyokeres transfer saga as the two clubs involved are yet to agree on bonus payment method despite agreeing to a total transfer fee. Arsenal has agreed a €73.5m transfer fee with Sporting Lisbon for striker Viktor Gyokeres.

The 27-year-old has been a long term target for the Gunners as they look to fix the striking position after ending last season without a recognisable target man which forced Arteta to play Spanish midfielder Mikel Merino in that position.

According to football transfer expert, David Ornstein, his sources in Lisbon have confirmed that the Portuguese club have reached an agreement with the Gunners for Gyokeres. The deal is worth €63.5m guaranteed fee plus €10m add-ons.
