FIFA Club World Cup champions, Chelsea are looking to improve their squad ahead of the 2025/26 season despite already signing Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Jamie Gittens this summer.
Softfootball understands that the Blues want to have extra pace on the wings that would help them stretch teams and also help the defence line. Like they showed in the 3-0 demolition of Paris Saint-Germain in the CWC final, Enzo Maresca’s side are keen on improving their transitional plays.
According to Transfer News Live, Chelsea remain interested in Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and will try to sign him this summer.

The Blues were in talks to sign Garnacho in January but the Red Devils refused to sell the player as he was regarded at the time as one of the regular players and with multiple injuries to the squad, Coach Reuben Amorim held on to the player.
However, the player has since fallen out of favour with Amorim and he is now surplus to requirement. The Argentine was furious he wasn’t in the starting line-up for the UEFA Europa League final against Tottenham. First his brother criticised the manager for dropping Garnacho and the winger liked the post.
The post infuriated the club’s hierarchy and they are willing to sell the player for £70m. Amorim has already given the greenlight for the sale.
Garnacho currently trains alone as Amorim doesn’t want him with the first team squad until his transfer is sorted out. Fans have also grown tired of the antics of the Argentine and wants him out of the club.
Despite his attitude being questioned, Garnacho remains a talented player and full of energy. In recent past, the former Atletico Madrid youth player has been praised for his speed and dribbling abilities, as well as his ability to create chances and get into the box.
Garnacho has frequently been deployed as a winger on either the left or right flank. Manchester United former assistant coach Mike Phelan described him as
“everything that Manchester United is about”
and
“an intelligent player who understands his role in the team”.

Garnacho’s style of play has been heavily influenced by that of former Red Devils teammate Cristiano Ronaldo, whom he idolises. He frequently performs Ronaldo’s iconic goal celebrations when scoring goals himself.
Softfootball previously reported that Napoli are not working on a deal to sign Garnacho. Now, Chelsea has the chance to get the player as he has no plans to accept huge offers from Saudi Arabia.
Alejandro Garnacho has scored a total of 16 goals in the Premier League for Manchester United across all competitions in his senior career.
