Arsenal are reportedly set to land Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze this summer, with football pundit Gary Lineker claiming the attacking midfielder is on his way to the Emirates.

The 26-year-old Crystal Palace star has been outstanding for the club, and he is on the radar of top teams this summer. He is undoubtedly one of the best attackers in the league right now, and he deserves to play at the highest level.

With Arsenal keen to sign a left-winger in the summer transfer window, Mikel Arteta’s side have taken an active interest in Eze. Although the England international played predominantly as an attacking midfielder last season, he is a very versatile player who can operate out wide and has played as a left-winger before.

Former Tottenham striker Gary Lineker believes that Eze will eventually end up at Arsenal, but the pundit does not think that the Gunners will bring in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, too.

Lineker said on ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast:

Eze looks like signing for Arsenal. It looks like that’s going to happen. He plays sort of on that, perhaps on the left-hand side where Rodrygo wants to play, so maybe that’s not going to happen. Who knows?

Softfootball has reliably learned that Eze has a release clause of £68million in his contract at Palace, who want at least £45million paid upfront.

Journalist Dean Jones subsequently reported that ‘Arsenal are already aware that Eze wants to join the club’, with transfer expert Ben Jacobs adding that ‘Eze is keen on a move to Arsenal’.

Arsenal need more quality and depth on the flanks, and the 26-year-old would be the ideal acquisition for them. He will add pace, flair and goals to the side.

The 27-year-old, who has earned 11 caps for England, scored 14 goals for the Eagles last season and picked up 11 assists as well. There is no doubt that he is good enough to play for the biggest clubs in the country. He could transform Arsenal in the attack if he joins the club.

Softfootball previously reported that Arsenal are edging closer to signing ideal Kai Havertz replacement. Arsenal have reportedly closed in on securing the services of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, who has been touted as a replacement for Kai Havertz.

According to Fichajes, Arsenal have tabled an offer of £60m for Sporting striker Gyokeres, with a five-year contract being worked on behind the scenes.Gyokeres had an outstanding season last term, scoring over 50 goals and helping his side clinch the title, which has sparked interest from several clubs for a possible summer transfer.

The Gunners and Manchester United are among the Premier League teams keen on securing his services.Despite Sporting’s efforts to retain their star player, Gyokeres has expressed his desire to explore new opportunities.
