Manchester United are weighing up a move for Mohammed Kudus, with the West Ham attacker emerging as a serious transfer target for several Premier League clubs.

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for £38 million, delivered an impressive debut season but struggled to match those heights last term, scoring just five times in 35 appearances. Despite this, he remains a hot property this summer.

While Chelsea have maintained strong interest in the Ghana international, their opening offer involving cash and a player swap – Robert Sanchez or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – was swiftly rejected. Talks have continued, but Chelsea’s focus has reportedly shifted toward Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens.

That shift has opened the door for other suitors, with Manchester United now entering the frame. Manager Ruben Amorim is said to admire Kudus’ versatility and views him as a potential asset to bolster United’s attacking ranks next season.

Newcastle United have also joined the race, along with a third unnamed Premier League side. Though interest from Saudi Arabia exists, Kudus’ release clause for Saudi clubs is set at a staggering £215 million, compared to the £85 million valuation for domestic teams.

With United aiming to clear out attacking players such as Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, and Antony, reinforcements are a priority. Napoli lead the chase for Sancho, while Rashford dreams of a move to Barcelona and Antony is exploring a potential return to Real Betis.

Chelsea’s pursuit of a winger continues, with Gittens top of the list. They’ve also shown interest in Joao Pedro of Brighton and Malick Fofana of Lyon. Meanwhile, players like Mykhailo Mudryk, Joao Félix, and Noni Madueke are reportedly available for sale, with Chelsea reshaping their forward line.

In terms of business done, Chelsea have already added Liam Delap in a £30 million move from Ipswich Town and decided against keeping Sancho permanently, opting instead to pay a £5 million penalty to end his loan early.

As the summer window unfolds, Kudus could become one of its most contested targets – with Manchester United and Chelsea at the heart of the battle.
