Another double problem for the Nigerian Super Eagles ahead of their 2027 AFCON Qualifiers, as Paul Onuachu picked up an injury despite delivering a brilliant performance during Trabzonspor’s 5–0 home victory over Gençlerbirliği.

Onuachu scored a first‑half brace, finding the net in the 5th and 22nd minute, before hobbling off injured in the 44th minute. His early exit adds to Nigeria’s growing list of concerns ahead of the qualifiers.

His fellow Super Eagles teammate, Chibuike Nwaiwu, also played a key role in Trabzonspor’s dominant performance. The defender won the penalty that Mohamed Salah converted in the 14th minute, and helped his side keep a clean sheet in the emphatic win.
