Softfootball can confirm that FIFA has accepted the mass resignation of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) leadership and has pledged to continue engagements with the Federal Government of Nigeria, the NFF administration, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on a comprehensive roadmap for reforms in Nigerian football.
According to Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), who led the Nigerian delegation, a meeting was held at FIFA House in Zurich, Switzerland, involving FIFA, CAF, CAF advisors, the NSC, and the NFF administration. All parties agreed to continue consultations to fine‑tune a reform roadmap aimed at restructuring Nigerian football in the short, medium, and long term.
He added:
There is no doubt Nigerian football will emerge stronger, better structured, and properly positioned for future success after the conclusion of this reform process.
