Chelsea have reached an agreement to sign Italian defender Honest Ahanor from Atalanta in a deal worth £40 million, with the transfer officially confirmed as an exclusive agreement.
The 18-year-old defender will remain with Atalanta for the time being before completing his move to Chelsea from June 2027. The arrangement gives the young centre-back more time to continue his development before making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
Softfootball reported that Ahanor will now join Crystal Palace on loan from Atalanta, allowing him to gain valuable first-team experience in the Premier League. The temporary move is expected to play an important role in his development ahead of Chelsea eventually taking over his registration.
