Softfootball understands that Barcelona have reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Gabriel Jesus in a deal worth €10 million plus add-ons, with the Brazilian striker now set to complete his medical on Monday.

Jesus has been authorized to travel ahead of the medical, bringing him closer to a move to Camp Nou after Arsenal decided to allow the forward to leave before the summer transfer window closes.

The agreement confirms earlier reports that Jesus was no longer training with Arsenal’s first team. The 29-year-old had fallen down the pecking order in North London amid competition from Kai Havertz and other attacking options, making a departure increasingly likely.

Barcelona have moved for Jesus as they search for another centre-forward option after failing to complete a deal for Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez. The Catalan club consider Jesus a suitable alternative who can provide experience and versatility across the attack.

The Brazilian has also long held a desire to represent Barcelona, making the proposed transfer particularly attractive to the player.

Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and initially played a major role in Mikel Arteta’s plans. However, recurring fitness problems, including an ACL injury suffered in 2025, disrupted his progress and limited his opportunities.

Having now recovered from the serious knee injury, Jesus is expected to begin a new chapter in Spain if he successfully completes his medical.

For Arsenal, the €10m package allows the club to move on from a player who had become a peripheral figure while creating space in their squad.

Barcelona, meanwhile, believe Jesus can provide valuable depth, experience and flexibility as they prepare for another demanding campaign.

With the medical scheduled for Monday and travel already authorized, the transfer is now approaching completion.
