Liverpool have finally reached an agreement in principle with Paris Saint-Germain for their No.1 target Bradley Barcola, Softfootball understands.

The Reds will pay an initial £100 million for the 23-year-old, plus a further £20 million in add-ons, taking the potential package to £120 million.

Barcola emerged as Liverpool’s priority target following their failed pursuit of Yan Diomande. Negotiations with PSG proved difficult, but an agreement has now been reached after weeks of talks and PSG’s arrivals of Maghnes Akliouche, Ferran Torres and Mika Godts.

Personal terms are already agreed, with the remaining details expected to be ironed out on Friday morning. Barcola will then undergo his medical before signing a long-term contract.

Barcola’s pace, dribbling ability, movement and versatility make him an attractive option for Liverpool’s attacking plans. The PSG forward can operate from either flank while also contributing centrally, giving the Premier League club additional flexibility in the final third.

Arsenal had also shown interest, but Barcola favoured Liverpool, who previously considered signing him in 2025 before deciding against the move to protect Rio Ngumoha’s pathway.

The player’s preference is also understood to be an important factor in the negotiations. Barcola reportedly favours a move to Anfield and is keen on the opportunity to continue his career in the Premier League.

Under Andoni Iraola, Liverpool want wingers capable of operating on both flanks, with Ngumoha now adapting to the right.

The need for reinforcement increased following Mohamed Salah’s departure, leaving a major void in Liverpool’s attack. Victor Munoz was also added earlier this summer, but the club remained patient in their pursuit of Barcola.

The French international joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for €45 million after making 47 appearances for his boyhood club.
