The winger scored his side’s only goal in a 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge at the Gewiss Stadium, marking a significant personal milestone. Softfootball reports that he became the first Nigerian to score in four consecutive Champions League games.
Lookman was introduced after the break with Atalanta trailing 3-0 and immediately reduced the deficit in the 46th minute.
Lookman’s recent goals have come against VFB Stuttgart, Real Madrid, Sturm Graz, and now Club Brugge. This consistent scoring run highlights his importance to the team even during a difficult European campaign.
Unfortunately, the Nigerian international missed a penalty later in the game, which drew criticism from head manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
