Chelsea are seriously considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kerim Alajbegović, with the highly rated teenager emerging as a player specifically identified by head coach Xabi Alonso.
Alonso has followed Alajbegović’s development closely and is understood to have recommended the 18-year-old as a potential addition to Chelsea’s long-term project.
Softfootball previously reported that Alajbegović was among the names discussed internally with Alonso, and Chelsea continue to assess the possibility of making a formal approach.
The midfielder is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen this summer, attracting strong interest from across Europe. Atalanta have already seen a bid rejected, while Napoli and Juventus remain firmly in the race for his signature.

Chelsea have not yet submitted an official proposal but are actively weighing up a move as competition for one of Europe’s most promising young midfielders continues to intensify.
With multiple clubs monitoring the situation, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining Alajbegović’s next destination.
